Curly Protective Style Tutorial
You should be washing your braids/Locs once per week. NOT NEGOTIABLE! Here is how đđž
Step 1: Submerge your hair in water. Soak it
Step 2: Shampoo âźď¸ Focus the scalp. Wash your scalp with the intentions of getting the scalp as clean as your face.
Step 3: Thoroughly clean your hairline. Your hair line will hold on to all of you gels, edge control, make up, moisturizer and whatever else you use on your face and edges. Clean it out properly to avoid breakage.
Step 4: Wash out shampoo. Rinse as many times as you need to. Leaving conditioner in your hair will dry it out. This is not a step you should skim over.
Step 5: Condition like your life depends on it. This is my FAVORITE PART Soak your hair completely. When your hair is drenched with water add conditioner until your hair is SLIPPERY.
Step 6: DETANGLE. Hold on to your loc AT THE ROOT OF THE CURL and gently work out any tangles. This can also be done with your hands. Either way, the goal is to make sure you Detangle your curls in a way that protects them from shedding.
Step 7: Dry. AIR DRY OR DIFFUSE(diffuser attachments available on my website) How you dry is important because this is how to make sure you donât have frizzy, statically electric curls lol. If you let your hair air dry it will be more voluminous. But if you diffuse your hair it dries faster and your curls will have more definition. My recommendation is diffusing because your guaranteed to dry faster đ
